A new photographic exhibition featuring a year's project covering the River Chess and its environs will be held from 30th June in the Pavilion Gallery at Chenies Manor this year.
Organised by the Photographic group of The Chess Valley U3A, the exhibition reflects a year's work by the group, photographing all aspects of the river, its wildlife, historic locations and buildings and the people who work and live by it.
The group was formed immediately after the New Chess Valley U3A was formed in autumn 2008. This branch now has over 700 members, enjoying a variety of different group activities, from walking to learning Italian. Members, all of whom are no longer in full time employment, provide self help teaching facilities
"Some of our members joined the group as virtual beginners, but the quality and standards of their work has improved in leaps and bounds" said Keith Hoffmeister, Convenor of the photographic group and event organiser.
The exhibition will commence on 30th June 2010 and run for a month until 29th July, opening from 2.00 to 5.00pm on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, and from 1000 to 5.00pm on Sunday 19th July (Chenies Annual Plant Fair) at this very popular visitor attraction.
"If you have not been before, then you can combine a visit with a stroll through the Manor and its grounds as well." said Keith.
The exhibition will feature prints and slide shows of members' work on a variety of themes.
You will also be able to pick up a memento of the exhibition - photographs will be available for sale.
